Cleaners Sickness Cover Vacancy

Thank you for your interest in working at Colchester Arts Centre.

We are looking for Cleaners for Sickness Cover to start April 2026 for 3-6 months.  The role is offered on a casual basis as the work is event-led. As the programme is varied, close liaison with management on a week by week basis to ensure the times and the level of cleaning required. A stand up gig with 400 people requires a lot more time than a sit down folk gig.

No two weeks are the same at Colchester Arts Centre! However a typical week might look something like:

Monday: Folk
Tuesday: Comedy
Wednesday: Theatre
Thursday: Cabaret / Poetry
Friday: Comedy
Saturday: Children's Show (afternoon) Music Gig (evening)
Sunday: Jazz

Cleaning takes place generally either early morning or directly after the show. The current cleaner averages 16 hours per week between 1 and 3.5 hours per show.
