AGE RESTRICTION
Unless an age restriction is specified in the information for the show, under 14’s year of age are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult 18 years+.
BARS
We have two bars in the same space where the performance takes place. All drinks and snacks must be purchased on site.
For family shows the bars are closed and you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks.
BOOSTER SEATS
We have 20 booster seats available during family shows for children. As availability is limited, we advise customers to bring a cushion or seat where possible to avoid disappointment.
CASHLESS
We are a cashless venue, accepting card and contactless payments only when purchasing your tickets fom the box office and drinks from the bar. This decision helps to reduces costs, speed up payments, enables us to support new artists and continue to invest in the venue.
CLOAKROOM
Colchester Arts Centre has no cloakroom facility at the venue. Coats and bags must be kept with you at all times.
We request that customers do not bring large bags or rucksacks with them. Bags must be no larger than A4 in size (210x297mm) and only one bag per person is allowed. Please plan your visit with this in mind.
FAMILY SHOWS
Bars are closed for family shows. You are welcome to bring in your own drinks and snacks.
Free Babes in Arms tickets are available for children under 3 years old.
HARASSMENT OF STAFF
The safety and wellbeing our staff & volunteers is very important to us. We operate a zero tolerance approach to any behaviour that is aggressive, abusive, racist, homophobic, transphobic or any way inappropriate . Do not touch our staff & volunteers and always to give them their personal space. Do not make romantic or sexual advances towards our staff, don’t comment on the way they look or ask them where they live or plan to go after work. We reserve the right to eject you from the venue with no refund on your ticket if your behaviour causes upset or distress to any of our staff or volunteers.
MOSHING, CROWD SURFING & STAGE DIVING
Moshing & Crowd Surfing maybe undertaken at your own risk. Be aware of your surroundings and take care of others. We will monitor behaviour in the pit and if anyone is behaving in an manner that puts themselves or others at risk we will intervene and if necessary ask you to leave the venue.
Stage Diving and Crowd Killing are strictly forbidden and anyone undertaking these activities maybe ejected from the venue.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING
Different events have different rules regarding the use of cameras. At the request of some artists there may be a no photography/filming rule across the venue which will be advertised on the doors and enforced by our Front of House team.
For other events the following applies
For standing events, photography using your phone or SLR camera is normally allowed. Limited filming of the concert with your phone is acceptable. Please be aware that protracted use of cameras and phones can be annoying to others so please be mindful of others in the audience. Backstage photography is only available to photographers working with the artist(s).
At seated events use of phones to film or take photographs during the show can be distracting and annoying to other audience members and the the artist on stage! By all means take a quick picture before the show or during the interval but it is best to avoid anything during the show.
At shows where photography or filming is not explicitly allowed we reserve the right to ask you to stop filming or taking pictures if it is creating a distraction or annoyance to others.
SAFETY
Everyone who comes to Colchester Arts Centre should be able to enjoy their time at our venue and we take the personal safety of customers very seriously. We want our venue to be a safe and inclusive space so we take a zero tolerance approach to any behaviour that is aggressive, abusive, racist, homophobic, transphobic or any way inappropriate and you are not welcome at the venue if you behave in this way.
If you have caused someone to feel uncomfortable as a result of your behaviour then we will talk to you about your behaviour and reserve the right to eject you from the venue with no refund on your ticket.
If you experience any behaviour that causes you to feel uncomfortable or unsafe whilst you are at the Arts Centre please raise your concerns with a member of staff as soon as possible. If necessary, we can take you to a safe space away from the cause of your concerns.
SMOKING AND VAPING
Smoking and Vaping is not allowed anywhere within the venue.
UNRESERVED SEATING
Our shows are a mixture of standing and seated which is stated in the event information for each show on our website. For seated shows the seats are unallocated and are on a first come first served basis.
