How to book

Booking Information

 

BOX OFFICE OPENING TIMES

The Box Office is open for bookings and enquiries in person at Colchester Arts Centre or by phone on 01206 500900, Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, Saturday 10 to 5pm. The Box Office is closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

The doors open 30 minutes before the show starts. Tickets will be available on the door if the show is not sold out.

BOOK ONLINE

Go to our website and click Events/ Event Diary or click https://colchesterartscentre.com/events/. Here you can search for the show you want to see using various filters by genre, date or type the show in the search box. You can also scroll down and see a diary of shows in date order. Click on the BUY TICKETS link and you'll be directed through to our secure server. Once you've completed your booking, you'll be sent a confirmation email which will include your QR codes.  You can also add your tickets to your Apple or Google Wallet.   When you arrive at the venue, please show your ticket on your mobile and we will scan the QR code at the door on arrival.  If you are unable to download your tickets, please give your name to our door staff on arrival. 

 

BOOK BY PHONE

You can speak to a member of our box office team on 01206 500900 and having your credit or debit card handy. Once you're booking is complete, you'll be sent a confirmation email. Click the red button 'Click here to download'. This will download a pdf ticket. When you arrive at the venue, please show your ticket on your mobile device and we will scan the QR code to show your attendance.  If you are unable to download your tickets, please give your name to our door staff on arrival.  

 

BOOK IN PERSON

You can pay face-to-face at our box office where Mick the Hippy awaits. Payment is by card only.  Once you're booking is complete, you'll be sent a confirmation email. Click the red button 'Click here to download'. This will download a pdf ticket. When you arrive at the venue, please show your ticket on your mobile device and we will scan the QR code to show your attendance.  If you are unable to download your tickets, please give your name to our door staff on arrival.  

 

CONCESSIONS

Ticket prices marked as concessions are available to those who are students in full time education, unemployed or in receipt of state pension.

 

AGE RESTRICTION

Unless an age restriction is specified in the information for the show, under 14’s year of age are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult 18 years+.

 

BOOKING FEES

Charging a booking fee helps us cover the costs associated with running a box office including staffing, software and building overheads. Colchester Arts Centre charges £1 per ticket. 

 

RESTORATION LEVY

From 4th October 2023 a Restoration Levy of £1.50 has been added to tickets over £12. This levy will go towards refurbishment, improvement, and upkeep of our arts centre.

 

MEMBERS TICKETS

Members can access tickets for shows  which do not display an * at the end of the show title. 
If there is an * in the show title then no members tickets are available for this event.

 

CANCELLATIONS, EXCHANGES & REFUNDS

If  a show is cancelled by the venue, customers are entitled to a full refund for the face value of the tickets and any associated booking fees paid.

If  a show is rescheduled, customers ticket(s) will automatically be moved to the new date. If the customer is unable to attend the new date, they should contact the box office to receive a full refund for the face value of the tickets and any associated booking fees paid.

If  a customer is no longer able to attend a show and the show is sold out, the box office will try to resell your tickets to the customers on the waiting list or put them back on general sale. If the tickets resell, the customer will receive a refund for the face value of the tickets.

If  a customer is no longer able to attend a show and the show is not sold out a credit note may be considered to the face value of the tickets. Credit notes expire one year from date of exchange. Expired credit notes cannot be redeemed or refunded. 

Any requests to return tickets must be emailed to ticketing@colchesterartscentre.com by 12pm of the event day.

 

UNALLOCATED SEATING

Our shows are a mixture of standing and seated which is stated in the event information for each show on our website. For seated shows the seats are unallocated and are on a first come first served basis. 

 

BOOSTER SEATS

We have 20 booster seats available during family shows for children. As availability is limited, we advise customers to bring a cushion or seat where possible to avoid disappointment.

 

BAG POLICY

Please be advised that there is no cloakroom facility at the venue. We would request that customers do not bring large bags or rucksacks with them. Bags must be no larger than A4 in size (210x297mm) and only one bag per person is allowed. Please plan your visit with this in mind.
