Modern Day Slavery Awareness Event
This event is run by Rah Rah Community Theatre Company in partnership Stop the Traffik with and uses a unique and engaging way to raise awareness of human trafficking. The event comprises:
10:30 Welcome and an opportunity to network with other professionals and volunteers.
11:00 Theatre production by Rah Rah Community Theatre Company called “My Mind is free”. The production uses a mixture of imaginative physical theatre and skilful multi–role playing to tell the interlinked stories of four people trafficked to and within the UK and their horrifying tales of abuse, exploitation and enslavement. Nominated for best stage play by the Anti-Trafficking Foundation in 2016 and Amnesty Edinburgh Festival: Freedom of Expression Award 2017.

13:10 Rah Rah Community Theatre Company and Stop the Traffik will run a 80 minute workshop on spotting the signs of trafficking. The workshop will also cover local information and give those attending the chance to engage with the characters from the play, highlighting the difficulties and barriers when dealing with slavery victims.
14:30 Q&A Both Stop the Traffik and Rah Rah Community Theatre Company will be available to answer any questions.
